Brandwood Balance: A Collaboration with Jim Dierckx
In this refined project by interior architect Jim Dierckx, Kenny & Mason’s Brandwood collection in matte black takes centre stage.
The fittings are integrated into a warm, textural interior where every element feels composed and deliberate.
Bold in contrast yet soft in atmosphere, the result is a bathroom that balances material richness with minimalist design.
Warm Minimalism with a Matte Black Edge
The use of matte black fittings throughout the bathroom introduces a subtle yet unmistakable presence.
Unlike reflective finishes, the soft black tone blends into the composition, allowing form, craftsmanship and materiality to take centre stage.Combined with natural stone, warm wood and soft, ambient lighting, the Brandwood collection becomes part of a harmonious palette where function and design enhance each other.
The spatial layout reflects Jim Dierckx’s refined approach to flow and functionality. Every element — from the wall-mounted mixers to the freestanding bath tap — is positioned with care, respecting sightlines, ergonomic comfort and the architecture of the room.
These decisions aren’t purely aesthetic; they contribute to a space that feels calm, intentional and cohesive.
Even in the compact guest toilet, the same NGT3005 wall mixer is used again, reinforcing consistency across the project.
This repetition of details supports a quiet rhythm, making the bathroom feel not only visually balanced but also thoughtfully connected.
Freestanding Elegance with the NGT3001 Bath Tap
At the heart of the bathroom, the freestanding bathtub becomes a true centrepiece — elevated further by the presence of the NGT3001 freestanding bath tap in matte black. This sculptural fixture doesn’t just serve a function; it acts as a visual anchor in the space. Its bold yet clean lines echo the overall design language and add a sense of architectural rhythm. Positioned with care and precision, the tap complements the flow around the bath, maintaining an effortless balance between form and usability.
Across the rest of the bathroom, and in the guest toilet as well, the NGT3005 wall-mounted mixers extend this design narrative. With their slim silhouette and understated detail, they provide a refined presence that doesn’t distract but rather enhances. The matte black finish offers a striking contrast against the pale marble and warm natural materials, grounding the space with subtle strength. These taps integrate seamlessly into the walls, allowing textures like stone and wood to remain prominent, while still contributing their own quiet sense of precision.
Together, the freestanding tap and wall mixers create a cohesive brassware story — one of continuity, elegance, and restraint.
A Composed Contrast
Contrast lies at the heart of this bathroom’s quiet power. The interplay between light-toned stone, warm wood textures and deep matte black fittings creates a space that feels grounded yet layered. The Brandwood collection in matte black doesn’t dominate but steadies the composition. Its visual weight adds structure, while its refined form elevates the overall design language.
Rather than demanding attention, this bathroom invites stillness. Natural light softens the material edges, allowing surfaces to glow and shadows to deepen. The fittings, though minimal in presence, are essential to the room’s rhythm and anchors in a calm and curated whole. Every element has its place, contributing not just to function, but to atmosphere. It’s a space where contrast leads to harmony, and where design quietly speaks.
